I also spend some gems in hope ill hit from 1st to 4 places but with p2w in grp no chance !!!

Ideally you shouldn't. But the system is designed in a way to encourage spending. They can't put only whales in a group.

Here are the "secret" tricks: Gem up 4000 energy, put 2- minute farm on auto, go to bed = winning. Expensive, but the rewards are so underwhelming that the only "win" is the blue gems you get from farming and usable farmed items.

Just ignored it my friend. P2W is crazy. As F2P I'm only do what i can do. If the target is too high i will skipped it.

when u calculate how much u need for 1- 5* this is almost same, in tournament u will spend little more + u have the gear
so that is no problem, the problem is p2w ppl so u never cant pick some rele gear, I understand u can't win every time but not even 1 time to be first in any tournament for 9 months, that is a problem with game everything is fcking broken here

ill not do the math here take a calculator and do yourself how much 2 *3* 4* u need to make one 5* and how much energy u will spend
when u calculate u will spend on tournament maybe 500/600energy more but u have all gear+silver for farming dragon 20

MadCookie & Me - Both seem to agree that you should have stopped at the Clan Boss key.
In addition, Daniel isn't stupid.
Daniel is correct.
We know how much energy it takes to make a 5 star hero.
It wasn't worth it.
You spent gems going for a 5 star chicken when there is a fusion event coming around the corner.
Your F2P - You should have saved those gems for the event.
It would be different if you spent money on this game - As you could always just buy more gems.

I thought this was a tournament?
I had a clan mate with a bracket that had someone at 14k,
there's no predicting when someone will go hard on a tournament,
for example I sit some out, but then i go hard on a tourni i like, so there's no way to calculate who does how much.
and then theres the competitive aspect, can't argue against that, we don't know if the first person in your bracket is p2p or f2p, they might be f2p but they used their resources there.
