Accoring to HH website, Kawn's shield multiplier is 3.5*Def, so let's say you give him build of 6K Def & 50K HP.

His A3 will put up a shield worth 21K, which is 42% of 50K, so his A2 would ignore 21% of Enemy Defense on top of the Savage/Lethal/Merciless Gear and Helmsmasher that you would want on him too.

HH does rate his A2 as "Godlike" for Arena, but that is predicated on the correct setup, which for Kawn means a shield is up before he hits.

I mean, there are other champs who have attacks which ignore defense without convoluted poorly-worded set-ups required.

Problem is are you getting 2 turns like that in arena, and if you are why bother with the extra step when so many other options are just better.  Of course you could run him with Bolster Nehkret or something to that effect but Narses exists.

I agree totally. Relying on shields for sustainability is even less viable these days than my Old School High Res Tanks.  Narses made Mithrala & Valkyrie mostly irrelevant for Arena Defense.

I don't think he should be discounted. In a lot of ways he reminds me of Rotos too. The A1 has block revive and the A2 destroys max HP, and rather than growing his HP, he grows his DEF.

Now, of course, you're right, he's a void lego, so that means he has to measure up against some pretty big champs. Still - I think if I were to get him, I'd probably see if I could find a way to get him on a team.

Embrys, the Chimera mythic, has block revive on his form 2 a1, and people are gonna start getting him soon

I'm only at 47. My clan doesn't bring down NM yet, so I've been doing one top chest on nm, and double top chests on brutal.
