All OUT for Hansel (Guaranteed for 1st place in Champion Chase!?)

I get why Odin would be a top prize, that's a Void Legendary that was one of the best champions out of the 4 nords that were part of a 2 month event. This is a Pairing Champion, every time I can think of before this, there was a way to get the 2nd Champion related to the Fusion Champion. Kaja could be gotten from Deck and even Narses (void leggo) was guaranteed from pulling enough Voids.

This is a champion REQUIRED for Gretel to be good and he's not even Void, yet the only guaranteed way to get him is to place FIRST in god damn Champion Chase of all things??

This is an extremely dumb decision, you could have had lots more people spending money to get resources in a Event that was Guaranteed instead of a Tournament. Why would I drop $100s to potentially NOT even get the champion?

Lastly, this means the only "guarantee" is that there won't be another opportunity to get Hansel guaranteed after this. There's NO WAY you'd put Hansel as a top Tournament prize in the most expensive tournament there is only to later make him guaranteed.

Thank god I was saving books for Gretel for CvC next week. Now I can give them to someone else that I'll actually use.

EDIT: You know what, I decided to take advantage of the Prism Event. I figured I was willing to spend $120 if I was gonna pay for a guaranteed Hansel so I bought 12 Pulls. 10 Epics in the 10 pull and was ready to throw my PC out the window until:

I'm not sure why you think this is the first time they haven't provided a (different) guaranteed way to get the pair? There have been *tons* of paired champs in the past which didn't provide any way at all of getting the pair.

Not that I'd ever advocate trying to win a tournament like this, but in the past the tournaments weren't even an option.

I figure it's Sunk-Cost Fallacy:

People went for Gretel expecting Hansel to be more attainable, now they (a small portion anyway) will go all out to "win" Hansel because otherwise all the previous work, and time, and quite possibly money, they spent to get Gretel will be "wasted"

I have no insight into what Plarium may have coming down the pipe, but I am not sure you should assume that "There's NO WAY you'd put Hansel as a top Tournament prize in the most expensive tournament there is only to later make him guaranteed."

It would not surprise me at all that they would do a Tourney like this and then in a couple of months offer some other sort of event to get Hansel.

I wouldn't be surrpised if they did a guaranteed pull for him the minute after the champ chase tournament ends.

Hell, at this point I wouldn't be surpised if they made him a 7-day log in champ.

I'm starting to seriously (no, not *seriously* :P ) wonder if whoever is making the decisions for Raid has invested their life savings in HH's game. I'd wager *my* lifesavings* this has been a VERY good month for beta sign-ups for it.

*: yes, BOTH dollars!

Also - I'd be shocked if people spent more money on guaranteed outcomes such as Deck of Fate / etc, compared to tournaments. The amount of points I've seen in some of those tourneys would require just an absolutely absurd amount of money to reach.

I'm not sure you understood my point since you seem to be restating it. I'll try to clarify:

People would be more likely to spend a moderate amount of money on a guaranteed event vs. spending a TON of money without a certainty they'd even get the champion. That's why I said $100s in reference to the tournament, because you can buy the resources for Fate ect for way less than that.

Also you misunderstood my words about paired champions so again, I'll help you. My words were:

"every time I can think of before this" and as you can see, I've been playing this game 2 years less than you. That doesn't mean I'm saying "this is the first time they haven't provided a (different) guaranteed way to get the pair" it means, by my memory alone in the past 2 years, I'm not able to think of another time there was a Fusion and the paired champion wasn't available in a guaranteed EVENT after.

Now if you can provide a time between now and July of 2022 to help refresh my memory, feel free. It's possible it exists but I'm unable to think of it. And to be clear, by "Paired" I mean the two have abilities that change with the other present.

I will admit, given the majority of their recent decisions, I could very well be wrong. However, most of the damage they've done has been to the low-to-no spending playerbase. Upsetting the whales/krakens (especially right now) seems extremely unlikely but not impossible, so my "NO way" was a bit hyperbolic

hansels for everyone!

That's the point of my post, Hansel should be a guaranteed Event. It was only at the end of the night that I was desperate and spent over $100 to try and get him from Prisms, mainly out of disgust and hopelessness.

I figured my story had a happy ending to be shared so I added a Edit to the end of my original post, it was never a brag to get trolled

Fyi  the chase tournament is only 50 per group, this is a significant tidbit that i think is going largely unnoticed...

Yeah I'm also getting a bit concerned, that's part of why I worded the title that way... was hoping he'd reply somewhere

I must admit that when I saw this thread title, I immediately thought of @PriestGuardian

Maybe the Odin chase drained the life from him, and he is still not recovered.
