Who do you think is a Underrated Hydra Champion (and why?)

I recently started using Rian Seacrest (Rian the Conjurer) on my Brutal team and he's been doing surprisingly well. First off, his A2 is a 3 turn CD and gets you your AOE Weaken while also doing a Buff Strip that bypasses Poison Cloud. His A1 doing Block Buffs is a really good supplement to your AOE Block Buffer. His Revive is only Single Target but usually that's all you need.

Overall I feel he's a good counter to the Wrath head. Wrath Head puts Block Debuffs up and is the most likely head to kill champs on your team so the Revive keeps you in the game. You can manual his A1 so that if a head respawns right before Poison Head takes a turn, you can get that Block Buffs up again immediately.

The fact he's a champ you're guaranteed to get early from Doom Tower is pretty huge.

SIDE NOTE: The first 4 Doom Tower Normal Epics you get are really good for any new player. It's a shame how poor the DT Hard leggos are till you get Varl. I hope they get looked at soon to be re-worked to match the power creep that has happened.

I used Rian for quite awhile until I pulled a dupe Ukko.

100% very underrated champ

I used maranix on my brutal team for awhile. Think he was a pretty unpopular fusion a couple years ago. Brings a aoe hex+decrease defense, I put him in a taunt set a well. So brings a decent amount to the table and some extra dps, not a terrible champion imo.

Mordecai? xD

Places aoe hp burn without affinity check, and has some turn meter boost

Used him as a budget option for awhile, definitely rock solid - and the 3 turn attack up is really good as well.

My first thought: though he won't be easy many to get (yay mythics), Androc is a really really strong support champ in his first form and plays nice with 9 pc protection and having your DPS in Heavencast.

I think that you are thinking of Uugo.

Rat is talking about Ukko.

Both are awesome in Hydra, but I am not sure I would call either of them underrated for Hydra. Their value in Hydra is widely appreciated.

I'd nominate Visix.  In a good team, she can function as the lone Provoker all the way up to NM Hydra.

Everyone has her, but as far as I can tell, very few people actually use her for Hydra.

When she was first introduced, she was mediocre (at best), and I don't think her reputation recovered, even after she was buffed.

Good thing someone told you that when you pulled him.

I used her for a bit to pretty good success, she also hits pretty hard which is a nice bonus.  My only problem with her was having the Ally Protection get stolen.

Maranix is solid, hadn't looked at him before. He would probably be A or S Tier on Hydra if his abilities included Head Decapitation (which is something I hope many more champs get added/reworked for)

Right sorry, I need to stop replying so late. Uugo goes on any team and can fill 3 roles

First yes, I was thinking of Uugo. Really embarassed myself on that one. No matter how much Uugo is appreciated, it's still not enough lol.

Visix is a solid call out. She is a great champ for Hydra for early players especially and doesn't get the respect she deserves.... so many Visix get fed to Lydia as soon as they pull Lydia but I won't do it (yet)

I still don't have a NM team that can outperfrom this one, so I soldier on with Visix as part of my 300M NM Hydra comp:

in my defense my account is a bit too loaded for him - unless the nonsense teams like Trunda and Wix cease to exist.

I wish it was more than hope...

They really need to overhaul Hydra in terms of (1) The broken/gimmick teams and (2) the time it takes.

It would be nice if they revisited champions with a "kills opponent" mechanic to work on Decap'd heads like Wallmaster does. Trunda wouldn't be *as* overused or causing so much hurt to people without her if champs like Wukong's A2 functioned similar. Sure, it would be less often but still there's a lot of great champs that aren't used in Hydra because their skills with bonus AOE damage from Kills aren't viable
