Acelin the Stalwart

That A2 looks like it's gonna be very interesting. I'd imagine the damage isn't capped, so we're talking some pretty big AoE nukes for Hydra.

Question for the passive though - how does it interact with Torment? Good old "unstoppable force meets immovable object" situation happenin here.

damage on his a2 is capped at 1000% of his defense, which strikes me as a bit rubbish.

his passive will supersede torment. torment's ability can't be resisted or blocked, but doesn't have anything that lets it get around immunity.

Yeah sorry when I meant not capped, I meant more that it wasn't capped in the way that max-HP damage is capped. 1000% of DEF is still likely a big number - though his DEF won't be huge since you want him to have high HP, he should easily be able to each 5k with DEF up.

doubt they'll see much need to cap it. i think he'd be able to decent damage with it, particularly for a support-oriented champion, but nothing i'd really consider amazing. even if it were, i don't think his kit brings enough value to justify a slot in hydra unless you're trying to use him as a Torment counter.

My inclination would also be the passive trumps Torment but I'll try & double check

Even if he has 5K Defense himself and a 60% Defense Buff, that would be 8K Defense for the attack.  The attack does damage based on the size of the ally shields, but would be capped at 80K per Hydra head.

bumping because just in case: it seems the passive does not trump Torment's nonsense

1000% is not that big a number. That's 10x 100%, so, 10x the defense. Say you got 8000 defense (and that's pushing it for a lot of accounts) and you even increase it by 25% with the aura and a 60% buff, you're not even at 15,000. Multiply this by 10 = 150,000.

150,000 damage is not weak per se, but, it's nowhere near OP levels of damage

Yes, my math brain was clearly off, and rather than thinking 1000%, I was thinking 1000x :)
