Oh, it serves a very well defined point...it is just not really beneficial for the player base....altogether I would label it with profit phase.

to give end game players like ur self a purpose to keep playing i guess. even if it is virtually useless.

I haven't touched it much - still far from being done with artifact ascension - but specifically trying to push my highest end nukers (Rotos, so far) is all I've done.

For me Sand Devil > Shogun. 

Surprised to see this, it's not as good as sand devil but it gives definite improvements.

I ran it for half a week and put an extra 12 crit damage on gnut, baron, trunda and my second trunda and another 30 resistance on duchess etc

Definitely worth the energy investment?

Especially when at mid game or later where the vast majority of dungeon runs give no improvements.

No chance is the 25% chance to hit cd on a cd amulet worth sacrificing the chance to hit speed on speed boots, imo. And I have like literally hundreds of those that need to be upgraded.

I built a team for the challenge of it mostly.  Got my main damage dealers their CD amulets and back to SandMan I go.

You have 30 speed / divinespeed / perception boots with speed ascension?

Why would you need that many speed set boots?  Maybe a handful of champs at most.

Zoom zoom Trips.  Zoomy Zoom.

The point is to give you someplace to use Taunt, Krama. Any other reasons needed? hahaha

30 feels on the low side. Don't mind Trips, he takes life at a different pace.

I don't know if it's that necessary to get all your speed boots ascended, but i see your point, might as well roll the dice on your regen people, a bit faster won't hurt them. Same for nukers, need them faster these days, so why not. By the time i ascend all my boots and gloves, i'll be old LOL. So fk Shogun haha

I missed perception on the list... so ya I have 50+ perception boots in use probably.  But not sure how many "need" ascension.

Perception is a big one, yes.

Always looking to take off the substat pressure by ascending speed, that lets me spend that 12 speed elsewhere like in CD or Resistance substats. Or it lets me speed up a nuker by 12 or a Hydra support, etc.

Basically I want it on every boot I'm using.

Well we know you dont need Crit Damage or Attack% since your one nuker is all set.

I think there's really just one main problem behind artifact ascension -

Why oh why did Plarium decide to put FLAT STAT BOOSTING on them? If they were percentage boosts, then I could see there being value. But rings are literally worthless to boost, and amulets are almost entirely worthless.

No but that isn't the point for me. For key champs like duchess, gnut, mithrala etc it felt well worth the effort to get the extra resistance or crit damage or accuracy.

At some point the game becomes about tiny incremental gains and this is a way to get those.

I won't do shogun for every champ I use but for key ones it seems worth it 

I agree that ring enhancement is a waste of time btw.
