The short answer is "no". You probably should save them for a fusion if you're new.

Its most likely there will still be a 2x Ancient event next weekend.  The 10x seems to be some sort of special event they're doing.  For you as a new player I would hold your shards for the 2x or a fusion.

I don't think you can call 10x a special event anymore, I honestly can understand how n00bs would be confused with the frequency of events/tournaments now. No complaints from me with respect to that, constant failure of willpower notwithstanding...

Yes, if you're early game then you should definitely save your ancient, void, and sacred shards for 2x events, which come around every 2 weeks or so.. That gives you the best chance of pulling strong champions quickly to help with your progression.

Ignore 10x events, as they are for late game players with shards to burn, as the chances of actually getting targeted champions is very small.

Also, don't waste shards on fusions unless you are determined to complete a fusion. Often this can be a struggle for early game accounts anyway. However, you can always attempt to win one or more tournaments to avoid a fusion Summon Rush event and so continue for a fusion while saving your sacred shards..

Yeah not the 10x itself.  The 4 in a row with the bonus points for using Ancients makes me think they'll be some additional event happening or something.
