I spent over 300 energy on DH10 and ended up with 3 items, with a filter that I thought I had set up to save any 5*/6* epic/lego/mythic gear, with the only other setting being to uncheck the flat stats for gloves/chest/boots. Considering they'd all be 5* or 6*, that mean I got over 80% rare gear from those runs. Not impossible, but almost twice the expected rate.
What this filter needs is at the very least a way to simulate a drop and have the game tell you whether it would be sold or not with the current filter. I don't particularly trust these filters because I don't know how the different selections are combined. Is it an OR? An AND? Some combination thereof? I'm not in the mood to test it with my precious energy. I'll just wait for RSL Helper to get updated and use the far superior filter function it already has.
I'm now very nervous about using these filters. I did about 400 energy worth of runs, and only one item was kept. Normally I would just assume that it was happenstance, but the fact that the above item was kept makes me believe that maybe the filters themselves are bugged...
I agrre with your nervousness...that's why the first thing I did was to deactivate this selling filter.
To farm seriously, I wait for the update of the RSL Helper...there I can define my own filters
I just did 38 dragon battles where I had selected speed substats only on all gear, except for boots. I got tons of items and not a single piece of gear had a speed substat.
Oh, and yesterday, I kept getting warnings telling me that I must choose at least one option in each filter, otherwise all gear willl automatically be sold, even though I had chosen at least one option in each filter.
The filters don't seem to work. I don't understand why there isn't more talk about this issue.

Yeah I was getting those same warnings before they restarted the server to fix Razel. After that the warnings disappeared, but I guess it must have just been hidden.
@harleQuinn @dthorne04 can you look into this please? At very least Plarium should be making an announcement warning people about a potential bug while they investigate it.

there is indeed an issue with the filtering system which is being looked into now.
until fixed I'd stay away from the filtering system though I've been told going by rarity only should be fine.
Once more, the community are the outsourced playtesters for Plarium, while paying for the privilege. It's mind-boggling that a feature that doesn't work at the most fundamental level made it through Q&A (if Plarium even has that). Krama's use case is not some weird outlier. It's probably the very first example that should have been tested.
Outside of bugs, I just don't see myself using this system very much. It's not flexible enough. I can't make the standard stricter for some gear sets than others. That means I can only apply the filter at the threshold where I'm willing to sell all gear. Same with rarities. It's impossible to express that I want to keep 5* mythics and 6* epics, leggos, and mythics. So I have to set it conservatively to only sell rares, then sell the 5* epics and leggos by hand. Still better than nothing I guess.
I havr tried many settings and it is selling nothing, I love the concept as it will make farming good gear much easier but no matter what I do it keeps everything regardless of stats ( Both Primary and Sub ) , rarity or stars. I m also keeping it off until it is fixed just to make sure it does not start selling gear I want to keep.
with this being bugged and now nothing being sold, if your inventory is full, everything goes into your mailbox....if it overflows your mailbox, the bottom items get deleted. I lost 15k in stored energy from my mailbox for doing 150 super raids of ice golem where i kept 5 pcs. I sent a ticket and was told "kindly reminder to take a look from time to time and make sure you have space available in all the respective storage"
