For the most part, resistance is something you just sorta get with your other stats. Unless you're building for a specific fight, I wouldn't concern myself too much with it.

For HP/DEF, it depends a lot on the team you have around you. For Nightmare Hydra, for example, I have one Geomancer with 40K hp and 2300 DEF, and another with 53K hp and 2400 DEF.

I find resistance is great for hitting my one key numbers in Hydra, and keeping my Inc Def and Inc Speed buffs up.

I look for 400 resistance on my Hydra champs, and ofc my top performing teams pair that with an Ukko and Geomance for dec accuracy,

I love seeing at least 45k HP and 3k defense on every champ I run in Hydra, makes auto much easier.

You'll also want damage mitigation. All of my teams have at least one champ in a Guardian Set. My best team has great shielders in Brogni adn Bivald, and I keep Dec Atk up most of the time on Hydra. So we are really looking at a combination of adequate stats, good debuffs, good protection, and high resistance to keep those protection buffs on me.

Not got Brogni, best shielder I have is Bivald, but as soon as i put buffs up the mischief strips them then spreads them so I'm toast

You need a mischief tank. Some champ that has higher number of buffs than the rest (so he gets targeted), and then build him with very high resistance.

So this is why I like running a Dec Acc champ (Geomancer or Ukko is good for that) and getting all my champs to a bare minimum of 300 resistance. This totally eliminates any worry about mischief stealing your buffs.

If you can't manage that on everyone, get someone with 450 resistance to go very slow, collect more buffs than everyone else, and be the one who mischief always targets. That steal gets resisted, and you don't have to stress.

Additionally, block buffs champs like Uugo or Norog are your friend. Mischief can't spread any stolen buffs to heads that have block buffs on them.
