I'd go with brago. can hit reasonably hard, crowd control and that passive is deceptively strong. good all around champ that you'll slot into Clan Boss for a long while, too.

I do like the idea of eventually bringing up Skullcrusher for clan boss as well.

What you really need is an AoE Dec Def champ and fortunately you have pulled one in Fodbor the Bard. Having a champion that delivers AOE 60% Dec Def is huge, and will help you clear waves in dungeons, and be useful everywhere. Fodbor has this on his A3 bookable to 100%, and has a decently useful buff steal on his A2.

After that I would consider Iron Brago as our next good option. Then I would finish out my first core team with High Khatun and Djamarsa for better dungeon farming, as well as use against CB. HK can keep speed and TM high on your other champs to help push through damage. And Djamarsa can sustain as a pretty darn good support.

This would be the core team I would build... High Khatun, Fodbor, either Ronda/Athel, Djamarsa and Iron Brago.
