I am about 2 weeks away from Drexthar myself so that's in my video que to research and see how and where he will fit in for further progress possibly in demonspawn faction as I have my beloved Dutchess! Follow my tube channel if you like I've got some "against the grain" style methods from what's the norm as I'm working on building the channel. Same name as it is here.

Build dreng 100% first , but then build drex after/eventually 

You'll want 3x aoe hp burn champs anyway for hydra , but dreng is very very good imo .

Dreng is S tier. really. For spider, Drextar is just horribly slow, as he requires all the spiderlings to attack. Drex is good in his own way for more advanced content like hydra.

Another thing is that Dreng is an absolute boss for for doom tower and dungeons. His A3 heal is insane. I've used him constantly all the way from early to late game.

My Spider 20 team with Drex needs around 2:20 min. Not as fast as Sicia, but I wouldn't consider that as horribly slow, energy is the bigger problem than real time with farming Spider.

Dreng is the better champion, but I would still recommend to build both of them. Drex doesn't need books, his AoE provoke may help in faction wars and it's ok to have 3 AoE burn champs anyway for Hydra.

Well, I'm spoiled by having Teo (16 seconds), but even before that, I would consider a decent spider time 1:00 - 1:30.

I agree overall that clear times don't matter that much. But it accumulates over all areas of the game.
