Curious what others have been brainstorming. My current idea is to run my standard go2 team of Mithrala, Mortu, Boragar, and Brogni, and put Rotos in as my 5th. If they ban Mortu I'm not hugely affected, since Rotos can do the job reasonably well. Banning Brogni or Mithrala will hurt more, but I think I can still get around it, especially if I can target my ban towards their counterpick.

Yeah I think that'll be a very strong team. Banning either of your nukers won't change much for your win condition, so I would guess that I'd probably target Duchess as my ban pick. But when you turn around and ban, say, Mithrala, I'm not sure whether I can actually get my Rotos to be fast enough to punch through your two nukers, especially if Nutcracker is running Stoneskin.
My strategy is to ban Marichka, or Duchess. This is gonna be hilarious, everyone's most OP champion will almost never get play time. In other words, having the best champion in the game will be useless, unless you also got the 2nd best one... so to speak.

Kimi -> Ramantu -> Shemnath -> Ruel -> Gaius
2x ACC up champ (kimi/ruel), 2x buff strip champ (ramantu/shemnath). The "weak link" on the team is that Gaius is the only one who will truly smack - but if they ban him, I'll still have three others who will do damage. Since Ruel doesn't actually need any stats at all for his primary role, he can be built as a pure nuker. Ramantu and Shemnath would need to focus on accuracy, but even still, given they need no speed at all, they should still be able to get very decent offensive stats.
Thinking of counterplay, the only champ that I can see truly breaking my team is Georgid. Thoughts?

Idk, I haven't thought much about it. But I think your decision tree is going to be much more complex. The chess game seems like it can be won 90pct before the battle starts.

Why would Ramantu being banned result in them winning? Shemnath has the AoE buff strip as well. And Gaius cuts through Stoneskin.
Like I said, haven't thought much on strategy. But your team concept seems like an offensive niche tag team that would be terrible on defense regardless of who gets banned? Do you run a bomb defense in tag? Won't the bombs just get cleansed (pyth, mith, riho, ...)?

Does quite well on defense, actually, because of the sleep. Can't cleanse if you're asleep :) but there is no "defense" in live arena. Both sides are live, so I don't need to worry about the AI.
Are you running Bolster Brogni and Immunity or Untouchable Mithrala?
Right now I have Mortu in Bolster and Boragar in Shield. Brogni is just in "whatever" gear right now. Mithrala is currently in Guardian, Pythion is in Speed/Resist.
But I'm not sure how I could make a team work around those types of people. Running either Mortu or Rotos, but not both, just makes it too easy to ban that person. And running both makes it too easy to ban one of the other critical pieces - without Brogni, the bolster/shield won't be enough protection, and without Mithrala, there isn't the debuff removal.

You ban after everyone has picked, at least that's how they explained it in the video.
And yes, you can't pick any champ your opponent has picked. There is a coin flip who starts picking, that player choses one champ. Then the opponent does, then player 1 again. Starting seems to be a big advantage here, as you can allready "ban" one champ for the opponents team just by chosing it for yours.

Gonna bump this up. With the new Nogdar buff, I'm revisiting this team idea:
Nogdar/Candy/UDK/Pythion/Goffred
My expectation is that Pythion gets banned, which leaves me with no reviver. However, Nogdar will essentially oneshot anyone on their team, and Candy can do quite a bit of work on his own. UDK and Goffred serve as pretty good walls to prevent them from dying, too.

The problem with Rotos is just that he usually ends up too slow to make the team work. He's what I'm currently running, but without time to build up, he starts off quite weak, and without two strong revivers, I can't consistently survive long enough.
And the problem with running only one of UDK or Goffred is that if they ban that one, the team may not survive long enough. But, that said ... maybe it will? Who knows, really. I mean, maybe I'm best off just throwing Tormin in there to elicit a ban?

I'm more curious if your original bomb team had any success? Seemed like a fun team, and certainly would have confused 99pct 😆
