I'd slightly disagree on the crappiness. It's not a great mission, but it's not terrible either. This is from the perspective of a clan where quests are so popular that we have rules on what you're allowed to take when, and the good ones always get taken.
1) Running 11-7 instead of 12-3 is probably ~15-20% less efficient (very hard to calculate exactly).
2) Drop rate is something like 1% (~70% artifact, 1/7 shield, 10% rare), so it costs expected ~150 energy or thereabouts.
3) 200 clan gold is way better than 150 energy.
The upside is that if you're doing champ training, this quest just gets done as a side effect of stuff you'd do anyway.
The real trap quests are those that look easy but have a chance of actually failing after significant effort (e.g. the ones that require forging x artifacts with y property, or pulling rares from green shards)
tbh i think the craft 5 with X are actually easy ... i only craft during CvC , so i always have plenty of materials if im ever stuck with that clan quest ..
My issue with them is that the early birds get to pick and everyone else stuck on picking awful quests(be it rewards or difficulty ..) wouldnt hurt to let .. like 5 players take the same clan quest ? :o
