You can 100% play this game f2p and succeed.

You can also pay to speed up some progress. Most of the things to purchase are a waste like armor sets or even shards.

Outside of plat arena and gold tag there really is no p2w.

And you can 100% pay this by dishing out thousand and not succeed ! 

Has for energy , the better you get at knowing the game , the more you realize there is quite a lot of energy , energy refills and gems to be earned weekly to keep you playing , unless you 24/7 it :P

Haven't spent a dime, and am effectively done with the game. All content except nightmare hydra done, and I'm sure I'd have that done too if it were unlocked.

As the above posts have covered, you're incorrect in your assertions as to how this game needs to be played. When you return from your break, feel free to engage in constructive discussions about the game rather than mindless rants and cursing. 

It is p2win but only if competing for platinum against people with a massive roster.

For 99% of the playerbase you do not need to pay to compete.

Personal experience is i am ftp, i am G5 in classic, G1/G2 in tag and have completed all rotations of hard DT etc and have 1 keyed brutal hydra.

That is probably as far as many people who pay get.

Absolutely right!  Wait, I mean wrong, absolutely wrong!  I have won some of the most competitive tourneys in the game (Krisk in training Tourny among others) as f2p.

If your idea of 11-7 on Brutal is "all the way", nobody is going to listen to you complain about p2w......you're not qualified to voice that opinion to a bunch of f2p players who beat Doom Towers and Hydra. If you're struggling, just post your roster and ask for advice. People here will pretty much help you with anything.

And move your expectations waaaaaay further out....this game takes time. I've never played a game that gives you so many late-game viable champs for free: Scyl, Drexthar, Arbiter, Rhazin etc. But it takes time, so just learn to enjoy the ride in the meantime. 

P.S. I paid good money, maxed a bunch of champs early on only to realize that I can't pay my way into good gear (the gear deals are a joke). So someone who has played for 2 years (or rather someone who farmed dungeons for 2 years) will kick my behind on gear alone....and gear is massive in this game.

So do you have a plan to maximize progress towards the unknown (new missions, new content, ???).  I would assume you would either quit or have a well thought out "maintenance" strategy to optimize resource accumulation while minimizing time spent.  

I haven't yet, no. Most daily content is more or less an afterthought, so I'm not too concerned about that. The bigger problem is that I'm just not incentivized to even bother logging in anymore, lol.

Let me know when you want to visit for a week and give NM hydra a test run.  If you are up to the challenge... 😆
