He's useless until they fix his passive.

Hmm for me looks like Passive is working.

Not for me.  When I was leveling him up in 12-6, there would be turns when his passive would proc and reduce the damage, and then there were other turns where it didn't seem to go off at all and I was hit for more damage.  It doesn't seem to work for 100% of the fight like the in-game description implies.

Norog Review Gear Recommendation = 2 piece HP + 2 piece DEF. + 2 piece ACC.

The above gear sets is what the game recommends to use on him.

I agree with a few of the above gear recommendations.

I disagree with a few of other gear recommendations.

-2 Piece HP/Divine HP/Immortal HP

I agree with the idea of having extra health on Norog.

I don’t know what gears you own.

The basic HP is fine, but if you have some of better set versions.

You can use them instead.

The goal is to makes Norog more Bulky.

More Health makes Norog tougher to bring down.

-2 piece DEF

I agree with the idea of having extra defense on Norog.

The goal is to make him a Tank.

It can be a lot tougher to kill him with higher defense.

-2 piece ACC

I disagree with this game recommendation!

I believe the reason the game is telling other people to use Accuracy is so Norog can apply his debuffs on enemy.

From my point of view, The Debuffs Norog have are trash.

  • 1 debuff decreases enemy ACC.
  • 1 debuff puts block buff on enemy.

Norog is dirt slow!

The enemy will hit you before Norog makes a move.

Decreasing the enemy ACC or Blocking Buffs is irrelevant if the enemy has already landed there Attack!

My recommendation is to not use Accuracy!

My Gear Suggestion - 2 piece HP + 2 piece DEF + 2 piece OFF

My recommendation would be to use 2 Offense gears.

-2 Piece OFF/Divine OFF/Cruel

The reason I think you should use Offense is because all of Norog attacks scale off of ATK.

Norog is a very unusual hero.

Most Defense hero’s deal Damage based on Defense.

Norog is unique in the sense his Damage is based on Attack.

For this reason, you need Attack on his guy.

The finer points of gearing - Primary Stats - Game Review Recommendation

  • Weapon - Always Flat Attack
  • Helmet - Always Flat HP
  • Shield - Always Flat Defense
  • Glove - Def %
  • Chest plate - Def %
  • Shoes - HP %
The game is trying to make him a Bulky Tank.

Let’s be clear, Norog is getting hit!

The enemy heroes will be faster.

Norog has to tank the damage.

The question is what type of Tank do we want.

  • Some Tanks are pure defense - they have no counter hit.
They win the game by chipping down the opponent over long period of time.

A hero like Reinbeast.

Most Reinbeast builds are designed for a Sustainable fight.

  • Take all the damage.
  • Slowly heal the damage back up.
  • Slowly chip away the opponent health.

The fight turns into a long grinding match.

Norog doesn’t have a way to heal!

In my mind, you want Norog to tank hits, but you also want him to counter attack with heavy hits of his own!

Norog is more of a Brawler to me.

Brawlers can tank some hits & dish out some hits.

This is how I would build Norog.

My Primary Recommendations:

  • Weapon - Always Flat Attack
  • Helmet - Always Flat HP
  • Shield - Always Flat Defense
  • Glove - Crit Rate
  • Chest plate - Def %
  • Shoes - HP %

If you compare the game Recommendation vs. mine, you can see I made a small change.

Let’s break it down on why I’m making this change!

We need Def % because we are getting hit (Norog slow)

We need HP % because our enemy might have hero who ignores our defense (Extra Health helps withstand the hit)

I am changing the gloves to Crit Rate!

We sacrifice Def % doing this, but we have a better counter hit.

HERE IS WERE YOU ARE GOING TO HAVE TO STEP IN AND TEST WITH NOROG.

Let’s explain: What my recommendations have told you to do?

-Change ACC. gear For ATTACK gear

The trade off is your Debuffs will not land as much, but you will do more damage

I believe this is good trade because most of the Debuffs Norog uses suck.

-Change Def % For Crit Rate

The trade off is you take more damage, but you deal more damage.

I believe this trade off is tricky and you need to experiment with it!

You can’t counter attack if your hero is dead!

Test what happens if you have Crit Rate vs. Def %.

If Norog does ok with only 1 Def %, I say keep the Crit Rate!

If Norog dies to much with only 1 Def %, I say switch to a 2nd Def %!

My overall mission for this hero is to turn him into a Brawler!

Brawler is a well rounded fighter!

My recommendation’s are designed to build up his HP + DEF + ATK.

They were all built up pretty equally.

-Question- you may have - why did I use Crit Rate Gloves vs. Atk % Gloves?

I believe the Crit Rate will allow him to do more overall damage vs. Atk%.

You can test this out as well if you want.

I found in my own experience allowing a hero to Crit more often gives the hero more overall Damage vs. 1 Atk %

My Sub-Stat Recommendations:

  • HP %
  • DEF %
  • 3 GEARS WITH CRIT RATE - 3 GEARS WITH ATK %
  • SPEED

In a Perfect Gear World, I think you would want the above Sub’s.

Crit Rate Gloves at 5 star maxed upgraded = 50% Crit Rate

Norog Base = 15% Crit Rate

Norog Mastery = 5% Crit Rate

This gives you a total Crit Rate amount of 70% - With min-max, you can get the extra 30% Crit Rate from 3 gears - 10% each Gear.

The other 3 gear pieces can rock Atk %.

-Question - you might have - Why use Speed in Subs?

Norog is slow, but you are making him for Arena.

Norog should be able to beat other slow hero’s in Arena.

In addition, Norog should be faster than the Campaign Monsters.

You might not use Norog for Campaign, but it’s a bad joke to be slower than them.

Norog needs some speed.

The only other Sub stats which can be viable on Norog are:

  • CRIT DAMAGE
  • ACCURACY

These are not my first choices, but we don’t live in a Perfect Gear World.

Bad rolls exist at least the above 2 Sub’s are semi-useful bad rolls.

My post is getting sort of long - I haven’t gone over the Masteries or Accessories.

I don’t want you to follow asleep reading this. lol

I will do super quick Masteries suggestion  - I recommend going down Offense Tree + Defense Tree

I will do super quick Accessories suggestion - HP Ring - Crit Damage Necklace - DEF Banner

If you want further explanation, I can say in another post if you want.

I am intereste the feasons why you chose every mastery.

Thanks for your help!

Alekzandarr

Sure, I will share with you the Masteries I would use for Norog!

My Recommendation is Offense + Defense Tree.

Let’s explain why I would pick each Mastery.

  • Tier 1 = Deadly Precision & Tough Skin

I chose Deadly Precision because it gives us 5% extra Crit Rate.

We would like to get Norog with 100% Crit Rate.

Sometimes, we get unlucky with our gear.

Sometimes, the sub-stats give bad rolls.

This is why I think getting the 5% Crit Rate could help us reach 100% Crit Rate sooner.

It reliefs pressure from our shoulders because we don’t have to stress to find the most perfect gear piece in the entire game!

I chose Tough Skin because Norog has a very unique Passive Skill!

Passive Skill says “Immune to Stun, Freeze, Sleep Debuffs. Decreases Damage Taken by all Allies 15%.”

The alternative option gives us +10 Resist which prevents annoying Debuffs from being out on Norog.

However, if you think about it, You don’t really need the Resist!

Norog is immune to most of the annoying Debuffs because of his unique passive!

So we can get the Mastery Tough Skin which gives us +75 Defense.

  • Tier 2 = Keen Strike, Shield Breaker, & Blast proof

I chose Keen Strike because it gives us +10 Crit Damage.

Crit Damage is perfect for what we are trying to accomplish with Norog.

We want Norog to be a Well Rounded Hero.

We want Norog to take hits + deliver hits.

This is why we previously went for Crit Rate & Defense in Tier 1.

The Crit Damage is most natural follow up.

I chose Shield Breaker because Norog main purpose will be in Arena!

Most of Norog skills have no effect in a lot of area’s of the game except Arena.

Norog was born to be an Arena Fighter!

If you play Arena for long time, You will soon realize people love using Shields!

They are addicted to shields.

Shield Breaker helps to fight those heroes using Shields.

I chose Blast Proof because it decreases damage by AOE hits.

AOE is extremely popular in Arena.

This is were Norog thrives!

We want Norog to take reduced damage!

  • Tier 3 = Life Drinker, Ruthless Ambush, & Shadow Heal

I chose Life Drinker because it gives us a chance to heal!

We prolong our death!

Norog will show them no mercy!

Norog will not go down with out a fight!

The healing can kill him alive in the fight that much longer!

I chose Ruthless Ambush because we get to hit them harder!

Yes! Let the enemy feel our wrath.

They will regret facing us in Arena!

I chose Shadow Heal because it gives us alternative heals.

If the enemy tries to be sneaky to heal from the damage we done, It will not go unnoticed!

If they heal, We will also heal!

We are putting them under intense pressure.

They can’t heal or we will heal.

We are watching them with our little eyes! 👀

  • Tier 4 = Bring it Down, Cycle of Violence, & Delay Death

The Tier 4 Masteries were the easiest ones to chose!

We had to pick 3 masteries out of 6 options.

I believe all the alternative options were completely useless except these 3 I picked.

I feel like I picked the best 3.

  • Tier 5 = Kill Streak, Selfless Defender, & Cycle of Revenge

The Tier 5 Masteries are the hardest Masteries of them all!

I struggled trying to pick best 3 for Norog.

There so many good options.

I don’t even know if I picked the best ones or not!

I chose Kill Streak because Norog does more Damage the more people he kills.

We want Norog to kill people in Arena.

We do want Norog to do more Damage.

It is part of the plan!

The issue is there is another mastery called Blood Shield.

If Norog kills someone, The Blood Shield puts a shield up for Norog!

We do want Norog to live longer so technically the Shield can be part of our plan too!

Both Masteries seem so good!

How do we chose which one is best?

It seems impossible

I struggle to make a decision.

I decided on Kill Streak, but I still am not sure.

They both seem very good.

The difficulty to decide which mastery to chose here is hardest thing.

I chose Selfless Defender because I feel Norog is a noble hero.

Norog has a passive which reduces the damage Allies take by 15%.

Selfless Defender does a similar thing.

I feel it matches Norog characteristics.

Every hero is got there own unique trait going for them.

I think this mastery helps complement Norog’s trait.

I chose Cycle of Revenge because critical hits happen a lot in Arena.

Cycle of Revenge will help your Norog Increase his Turn Meter which allows Norog to have his Turn faster!

Allowing Norog the ability to move faster helps him deliver his killer hits sooner!

  • Tier 6 = Bulwark

Bulwark decreases the damage your Allies receive. Norog will take part of the Damage.

I think this is another mastery which fits Norog Perfectly.

Norog is a courageous hero.

Norog is no stranger to fighting.

Norog can withstand hits.

Norog is tough to bring down.

Norog can deliver deadly hits.

Norog is a team player.

Norog is willing to sacrifice his own body to reduce the damage of his fellows teammates.

The most noblest hero ever.

Hopefully, you can see why I made the above mastery choices.

I believe the Masteries showcase the type of hero Norog really is!

Anyone know if Norog's passive will stack?  I pulled a duplicate of him in the sacred summoning event, and I am curious if I should try bringing two of them into Ice Golem 20 to try to beat it.  I know that multiple BEKs on same team do not stack passives, so I'm assuming Norog would be the same, but it'd be great if someone could confirm that before I try to build either of the two.

Why give Norog offense and not speed if you want to build him for arena?

The game finally buffed Norog.

The game did a rebalance to several champions in the game to make them more viable.

The game changed Norog hero skills & speed a month ago I believe.

All of Norog skills used to deal damage based on [ATK].

Now, all of Norog skills deal damage based on [DEF].

I believe Norog base speed use to be in the 85-90 range.

Now, Norog base speed is at 106.

Hopefully, now that I have explained it all to you.

You can understand why I said what I said so long ago.

Since, we are on the subject of Norog.

I would like to tell the future raid players of the world to please be cautious about what I said in June 20, 2019.

Some of the information is no longer accurate - Things have changed!

I would like to say: Don't use Offense Gear on Norog - December 8, 2019

Hi everyone i have a question "which are the best masteries for Galek".
