I bought a few, you really only need a couple of them. The pulls suck, so I don't feel like I'm missing much. 

I'm trying Phantom Touch on Shamael, but I only have a 1* soul. I think it has a lot of potential with him just going off every time a debuff is placed. 

Ive spent to much essence in 1* souls, still only buying for my favorite champs, but have missed the 2*/3* splits when they come up due to lack of essence.  I don't feel like I'm missing out by spending coin on essence rather than stone.  Stone pulls are a lottery.  But essence is something I'm learning needs to be horded for a few dedicated awoke champs.

I don't even care about pulls or expect anything good from them, I just use them to get coins that I can convert to essences. The Market is the place to focus on. And yes, it's vitally importan not to stretch yourself too thin. Choose two-three areas in the game you want to improve, pick maybe two or three champions in each, and focus on those only. Everything else you happen to pull is just a bonus.

I made the mistake of going wide on 1* souls early and preeeeeeeeeetty sure it's going to hurt me later too. For the most part I think I just want to be focusing on legendaries anyway. The payoffs are just going to be far too large relative to epics.

Find the champions with the most impact in the most important PvE content (Hydra for anyone past midgame, pretty much) and Arena and move on.

Interesting feedback guys thanks, i havent had too many 1 stars from the market- draco and heiress (to improve my cb score although i am not sure why as it is 1 key anyway), wythir to improve her damage in hydra  , geomancer and duchess - who i managed to buy a split soul for.

I was contemplating buying ninja and alure as well to speed up DT hard runs and also to improve ninja in hydra

But if another split souls comes up for duchess and i cannot buy it because i have bought ninja - i will be annoyed so think i will hoard.

Actually I buy 1 star souls for those champions I deem worth it...so for every legendary I use in more than one or two  occasion. As it is hell expansive to do so...I really restrict it to those who are at least A-tier.

Fun fact is, that by drawing soulstones I get more souls for legendaries I do not have than for legendaries I have...and I have more than 70% of the legendaries.

Today I also have Fortus, Maranix and Prosecutor in the soul market...which I find to be very funny and unlikely...I wish I would have that probabilities at drawing shards...

I like how you call it the hydra market  ;) everyone is finally joining me on the love hydra boat...

1. Definitely want brimstone for hydra, though not necessarily on your damage dealer. 

2. Though aoe increases likelihood of placing smite, ive found much better to single target to place on the correct head.  

3. Cruelty is good for hydra 

4. Pvp, other than causing freezes I don't know enough about the options yet.  

I have also stopped buying 1star, someone can do the math (@kram ) but seeing 8 legos a day leads me to believe you will likely see a lego you need/want within a month or so...
