What is the point of having 100 plus different heroes if ...

you can only upgrade skills for maybe 2 or 3 heroes fully? This makes 0 sense at all, why bother giving a hero 6 different skill advancements on a single skill if you can't even upgrade them unless you spend real money? Absolutely retarded...and what's up with that stupid challenge where you have to get 3* %atk....is this supposed to drain 3k+ engery so you spend more money? PAY 2 WIN gg

Yep. Skill books are very rare and too difficult to get. They only want to get your money. Even if you are very dedicated player you can't win without throwing a tons of cash. The management is too greedy. They make everythings on this games is rare, expensive, slow and difficult to get. The only way to make everythings easier is throw away your money.

I believe it's set in stone that they will provide us additional ways to obtain those in the future.

But will it be before the fan base has moved on?  There are several similar games each week like this a nd if the blatant pay to win  drives everyone away who will care once we have moved on to new and better things?

These games come and go fast enough as is, but Raid specifically has the most aggressive model in the market. After reading through some forum posts I have no faith this will get better. Most of the replies from the employees are "Pray to RNGesus" and "It's your choice whether to purchase items or not".

They released a commercial not to long ago, which might actually be a bad thing for the company! More people will show up expecting this cool game that's playable, but will see an aggressive cash grab with extremely low probability you get a decent reward.

The gacha model of these games has evolved for the worse. At this point it's better to put hundreds into a slot machine and pray, atleast there is a chance of return on investment. But I doubt they will care, mainly because they are now owned by a casino company! So either way it's a win-win for them. The big difference is, usually casinos care about customer service. While, this game appears not to.

I like that it's hard to get things. I don't spend money, but im at arena gold IV. I have 2 epic Champion with maxed skills. Im not lucky with legendary(have opened 7 orange shards), but have 6 legendary skill Tomes. I also finished tournament with 10k+ points.

In this game U really have to think What U are doing and u can be really good with out paying if U play smart.

So stop whining and start thinking.

Only dumb peoples can think that this is Cash grab while actually all games are Cash grab - but this is really 1st game where u don't need Cash to compete with whales and u can be good.

Whales can buy their legendarys, but if they are dumb and equip wrong artifacts - they will fail.

If U are smart, with your epics U win them.

Personally, I think R:SL is doing something right.  Too many people expect to get everything a game has to offer.  The game offers a plethora of opportunity to get shards, tomes, gems, etc.  It really does.  But, people want more because there is so much to the game.  Yes, f2p players will never, ever get everything they want.  But, most p2w players won't either, unless they've got way too much money to burn.  That's on them.

This game is about having fun with what you have.

This is basically how I approach the game. It's not for everyone and I understand the criticism. There is still room to improve the F2P experience.

I just want to add that this game and a lot of other games, mobile and otherwise, are a long term investment at this point. "games as a service" is a big meme right now and I don't see it going away. Governments are getting involved in this market and passing legislation mandating certain practices in order to do business in that region. Raid has been a positive experience for me and I didn't mind spending a little money, but be careful out there. It's possible to mess up pretty bad in the early game and feel more pressured to spend than you would have otherwise. Do yourself a favor and watch the YouTube tutorials at least.

Hello,

I thought I might highlight all the current locations you can farm for skill tomes or where you can get them for F2P players. (in hopes it may help)

Clan boss, from easy to Nightmare skill tomes, seem to drop fairly often(the higher the difficulty the better), note that the legendary tomes are a lot harder to get and only available on the top chest, but rare drop all the time and epics also drop at a reasonable rate. (mind you can get all types of shards here as well)

Events are running all the time where you can get tomes and shards as rewards

Challenges, Missions and Quests and now tournaments.

Further to that the 35-day reward program also gives you shards and tomes.

Personally, I have 56 rare skill tomes at the time of this post, from all of the above. (note: I have already maxed the 3 rare champions I use on clan boss)

kind regards
