it's really not pay to win, it's pay to have nice stuff that nobody else has
it's donating money to help out the plarium servers so they can help keep the "games" interesting for us
what you do with the money you donate to the game, is up to you,
buy some epic troops, buy resources, or even buy your haven some really cool walls and stuff to put inside even cool haven skins
Plarium makes it very easy how to get your own rubies free, there is always games being played in the forum
and other ways via the game....

I see nothing wrong in having an option to pay for the game I like - after all it's not huge money and it's practically impossible to have a good game running totally for free. I'm not even talking about profits, but even maintenance (hosting etc.) will require quite significant funds ;)
