Two Pirates came upon a river. There was a rowboat at the shore, but only one Pirate could fit in it. Both of 'em crossed the river.

they walked across. this said nothing about having water flowing across the river.....could have been a dried up river bed.

I saw a rope in the picture above, I think one of the pirates crossed the river by rowboat,while another pirates hold the rope is attached to the the tip of the rowboat then the remaining pirate took the rowboat with rope to his side and crossed the river
