This game is a hardcore strategy. So yes, it is complicated. But you can find some good friends here, join a strong Brotherhood or form your own. It's always easier to play together!
1. If you're being blockaded you receive a message from Anne Bonnie in game also you can see by going into the map and it'll show another player over your haven.
2. Potions of any level you apply them in the alchemist shop in the storage tab. you select a slot then click on the potion you'd like to apply then activate it on the prompt that appears. To remove them anything below level 5 will return to your storage anything above level 5 requires a coil gun.
A moderator saying "this game isn't for you" is like telling a customer "yeah, spend your money elsewhere, we don't need you". Do you get the message?
Just by looking at the Brotherhood lists and seeing how many people haven't logged in for 3+ days is indicative for sure. Raids take way too long (even from the viewpoint of "long game"). Raiding for resources (gold, rum, lumber) is redundant because I'm always up to limit. Blockading is the same thing (takes long and only gets me more "resources". Raiding for units (fleet / armada)... now that would make things more interesting.
Needing an ample variety of Sketches to get anything going, while getting repeat sketches several times, doesn't help either.
Why should I hunt for "resources" that can't buy much? Only Rubies count, And at this point I'm disinclined to acquire more of those.(even more so given that too many things cost too many Rubies).
Now, me heartie moderator, you may convey that to your overseers.

resources by alot as in Q'ing troops and updating buildings and if you play right you will gain more by killing pirate troops in prizes and gaining better.....
you don't need to be a coiner to get somewhere, starting the game should be an easy task
get into a bh that will help you, rum will be the hardest thing for you, for a bit
but having a bh to fall on when in need helps ... remember to build up your building, id personally get the rum
going first, because once you start hitting prizes your room will disappear fast
raid the havens around you of those that aren't in a bh, so u don't get attacked back, this is the point you wanna say low and just build, and always put your troops in your harbor, this protects them from raiders...

if you're constantly full of resources you are doing something wrong. You're asking to be raided and then you lose troops or constantly hit its on you. But a proper BH would teach you the logic as to why you should never have over 18k of any res. Logic - anything over 18k can be raided from a lv20 harbor. you should be spending your resources to well below your harbor limit. If you're in a BH that isn't teaching you the basics of the game then find a BH that will teach you.
Raiding for units - thats what the lighthouse is. And again if you're BH isn't helping you understand that find a better one.
Sketches - if you have duplicates then trade them in the market. If you're going to sit there and wait for the random sketches it gives you to be the right one then you're not utilizing all the resources made available to you. And again if your BH won't help you find one that supports their players development.
Rubies - if you play the game, the game gives you rubies but you have to play it. This isn't a game you put an hr a day into.
