It doesn't says "defence". It says "units defending". If your haven is attacked, then all the units not in the harbour are defending. Off sucks at it, but a) it is attacked and b) it participates in the battle, i.e., it is defending.
The Infirmary is useless in its current form. It should be restoring ALL the units both those who defend the haven and those which players use for attacking, (prizes, pvp etc.), that would make the gameplay more intense. If Plarium are not just money-oriented they could consider implementing this option.
I disagree. Applying the infirmary bonus to all units would be equivalent to just reducing all battle losses for everyone equally (except small players who didn't upgrade their infirmary already). The infirmary, as it is now, is a small bonus for those fighting on "home turf", which is kinda nice, given that the attackers have many other advantages.
Oh, and Plarium IS "just money-oriented". IMO, of course.
