There should be no reason for these idiots to attack you if they get nothing from you

Check the events down in the lower left if you have not done that already..... There is an event going on now that is really bad and should be removed..... It's called the treasure island event and that one should be removed right away if not sooner....  In a nut shell you capture a treasure island to gather resources and another player attacks you.... I only put 20 troops on a treasure island to gather resources which takes me about 30 minutes.... And I was attacked by a higher leveled player and they hit my treasure island with 7,000 troops and 2,200 ships... Needless to say my 20 troops did not have a snow balls chance against that....

So yeah that event has ruined the game for me and no doubt a lot of other new players as well... There has also been haven raiding events and no doubt you got caught up in that....  In the future I hope they remove these bad events the rewards are not that great for doing them anyhow.......And it was nice before going to treasure islands when everyone shared them and you had a chance to fix up your haven...... Good luck in the future.

If you are low level, try repeatedly sending 12 bonnies ... you get 4 tournament points if they survive, and one tournament point if they die

You will get very little from the tournament ... but could easily get free rubies from the tournament ranking

I've been playin' it fer 5 years.  It took me a solid year just to learn why me Juggs was dyin' to save me pirates.  I laid it out a number of times fer others after I caught on.  Had me a once thrivin' clan of no goods, evil do naughts, slacktars, spies, and backstabbers to surround meself with as well.  Well turns out the treasure of the game be the friends you make not the digital objects ye obtain.

If ye is sinkin' ye need to swim harder towards the shoreline.  Call fer help.  Somethin' other than givin' up and drownin' in ye tears.  If ye is going to sink to the locker below keep that hand upraised in case someone needs a dark corsair.  Fight fer ye last breath mate.  Don't take it lyin' down like an abused dog of man/woman.  I've no doubt more than a few veteran cap'ns would rush to ye aid if wanted to hear the ins and outs of the game and how to play it.

Nothin' an ol' salt likes more than taking the time to explain to a rookie the ropes.  I mean how often to ye get a virgin to tell all the secrets too eh?

Well the OP probably long gave up but to the rest o' you still readin' this rant know this.  JOIN A BH THAT HELPS YOU!  If ye isn't gettin' advice and ye asked fer some tips move on.  If ye isn't startin' a war on ye head and gettin'  plundered move on.  Find a flag that wants to help ye grow fat and happy.  Not one that sits around lettin' it's newbies get stomped and laughing about it.  They should have more pride in they colors than that.  IMO

For once, I agree with KDH. However, one thing needs to be emphasised: "Join a BH that helps you!" is often misinterpreted by new players as "find a BH that'll give you loads of res and defend you for nothing in return" and almost no BH wants that. If you find a BH that's OK with it, you'll probably get  nothing in return for your own nothing, so it's useless.

You need to contribute. Ask them to teach, get some help with units when you really need it, but mostly "that helps you" means "that's willing to teach you".

So, be active, grow, put some def aside for Presidio/Bastion if your BH requires some, help your brethren too. No reasonable BH will expect you to become the biggest player ever overnight, but there should be a reasonable participation. For example, killing all you have on prizes and then complaining that you have no def for Presidio/Bastion or suicides to attack an enemy Presidio/Bastion is a selfish thing to do.

Level 80's shouldn't be raiding low level havens, it's something I've never done and never will. I have always played the game that I won't raid a haven that is over 10 levels below mine. It's unfair to new players who are trying to build. There should be something in the game that doesn't allow this I've always said but Plarium doesn't care. I've seen level 140's raid a level 50. Seriously that's just wrong.

The purpose of TIs is to get us to fight, lose units, and spend rubies. People do them for PvPs, either defensive or offensive. If you're in it for the rubies/gears/res, you are very likely to have a bad time.
