It would help if you specified the platform (Plarium.com or Facebook) and the server (The Pirate Bay, The Golden Coast, Sirens' Straight).
In the mean time, was that member maybe a Cadet until recently?

hello. I have been in brotherhood of a hells viking for a month now and have the rank for a while now and got 8061 points and still not allow to join the BH ransaks ....

I have been a member of Hells Viking since before the major screw up. I had rank and lost my defense in screw up too. Now the game says that I cannot participate in BH ransack event. Gold Coast , Hells Viking BH , my coords : x:-5 y:730 . I would like you to fix this. Thanks, Don

Right now I can see that Don's contribution to the recent Prize Ransak (it is still open on his account) is 594 Points. Also, has already made contributions to two ongoing events: Multiplier Prize Ransak - 171 Point and PvP Warfare - 8081 Points.
Before, I faced cases when a player was getting pop-ups messages that he is not a member of any Brotherhood. The problem was in the Internet connection - the game client could not retrieve the data about player's membership in the Brotherhood due to an unstable and too slow Internet connection. First, start with the tips in this troubleshoot. If the issue will persist, try using the alternative Internet provider.
