I don't think they will do away with settlements, every game has the stash or whatever it's called in that particular game

I understand that they want to keep the game interesting, and that is excellent. The stashes idea is a good one I agree, but why mess with what was already a good idea as well, the settlements. There definitely is something fishy going on when it comes to the settlements as it doesn't work like it used to. Been ages since they announced new ones has dropped and it seems impossible to find any on the map.

ive always had issues finding settlements in Nords always had to ask a clan member to look for me 

Ive noticed the stashes where added early in app games first, so i new they where coming

With all due respect Blasphemy, that is precisely why I wanted Scald to answer the question.

Finding settlements on the map is a skill that me and others I know have learnt and thus locating them have not been an issue up until the recent changes. It is not an overstatement when I say that I personally used to find between 4 and 6 (sometimes more) emerald quarries on a very good day, 1 or 2 on a good day, and on average about 1 every 2nd to 3rd search. Meaning I ALWAYS had a em quarry or two and it was extremely rare for me to go more than a week without one, although it did happen once or twice. 

That is just the quarries.

Magic mines and all the other settlements I found like clock work, so much so that I had to pass on most of them. There was a time when I had 4 pages of settlement locations, all of the settlements having one maiden in them to hold their spot. I had such a hard time giving them all away that I decided not to hold the spots of so many any more and just leave them be.

I only actively searched for what I needed, which was usually 2 em quarries and a magic mine, then I just located settlements for my clan members if they needed it.

I am not talking about stashes here, I'm specifically asking about the settlements and why it has suddenly changed. They don't announce that new ones has dropped in the normal red alert in the chat, nor have new ones appeared in the dirigible sight range for a while now.

Something is up, all I want to know is, WHAT IT IS?

.....and somehow I think it is for Scald to answer. 

If HE says nothing is up and everything will be back to normal, then I have public record (this thread) that he said so and I can hold him to that. If HE says something else and changes will be made, then I know at least and can then decide what I need to do.

Well, Settlements will slowly disappear from Shingård soon. Updated mechanics called Stashed should completely replace them. 

There is no point in Settlements cause Stashes allow you to get more resources, this is only one of the reasons why we decided to do this.

It depends.......

What exactly do you mean by replacing?

If I will still be able to find "Stashes" on the open map FAR away from strongholds, like we used to with settlements, and the only things that changed are...

1. The name of the buildings.
2. The look of the buildings.
3. How you capture, hold them etc
4. And how you extract resources from them.

But if not, then it probably is one of the worst decisions ever.

Look at it this way....

In this game we war, and when we war we lose troops and resources. We also need to expand our stronghold throughout. 

We need a way to rebuild again after battles, and we need the resources to expand.

Some might be able to buy that resources, while others might not have the money but they have the time to search for mines and quarries and stuff to help them. 

If you take that way, then whats the point of staying here, you're not gonna get anywhere!

So Scald, what is it, how exactly are the stashes gonna work compared to settlements? Will we still be able to find them on the open map?

I'm more than certain now that all Plarium cares about is making money. (Their reasoning - The more they kill each other the more they have to rebuild, and if we take away their free rebuilding options the more they have to spend! )

I looked forward to searching for the settlements, it was exciting and fun, and I speak for my clan as well.

The fact that it takes forever to answer a simple question (will stashes be found on the open map like settlements?) makes me believe that they don't want it to be!

All Scald had to do was attend to the issue existing in an acceptable time frame.
