True, I mean they could have just kept the juggernaut's ability the way it was, and just improve ares's ability.  I'm not really happy about this. I mean ares (in my opinion) is not that good of a mech. It's true that u can protect your allies with it, but again, (in my opinion) ur allies are fully capable of protecting themselves.  So yeah that's it. 

Becuase as you pointed out Juggernaut was a lot stronger than Ares and there was no real reason to take Ares before over Juggernaut.

But now there is no real reason to take juggernaut

Juggernaut is still a monster mech with one of the highest health pools in the game plus his shield.  The only difference is you can't stand out in the middle of the map endlessly shooting.  You have to use the shield strategically.  

Let me say I did dislike the change but iv kinda wanted it i would use longarm 8 and jug and i could end be killed jugs better to push hp is high and cool down dosent take too long plus we all know how to piss a new ares player / old jug player off just drop shield down to 1 hp reload then kill, it works now ares is useful and jug has to push and make good use of his abundant hp plus ares shield has more hp this change has been coming for a long time 

Ares shield is only effective from the front though.  If you flank him or get behind him while the shield is up it doesn't protect him and he still can take damage.

Um yah that's why the change makes sense I mean originally Jug didn't have any drawbacks and Aries had a good Shield but you never had time to make use of it I think everyone knows that
