Bots Effecting Gaming Experience

Recently, new bots have been introduced into gameplay which for the most part is ruining the gameplate in my opinion.  We now see Ares, Zephyrs, Surges, etc.  At my level, which is 3200+ PWR and 132k XP,  pretty much every bot is max ranked with max ranked weapons.  Here's what I see happening:

1)  STUNS:  First, it would be safe to say that the intruduction of the zephyr and surge have turned the game into a stunfest.  When the bot change was made, the current tournament map was the very tiny one (I forget the name) .  You could not move in the center section.  There were frozen bots everywhere.  Larger maps weren't a problem.  You could keep a distance, however, that leads to problem #2.

2)  BOT AIM:  All bots encountered at my level are using maxed Stasis Beam/Lance, maxed carbines, or are Zephyrs with maxed Longarms.  This isn't really a problem as I'm used to going up against human teams with these weapons.  The real problem is these bots literally are "aimbotting".  They do not miss!  Zephyrs are the worst.  They will destroy you across the map with those maxed Longarms 10/8's.  You can try rushing them but their aim is perfect and you will just get blasted.  Speaking of being perfect, you cannot dash on them with a Killshot because they will stun you everytime.  I have even had them perform a stun while I dashed in from a 90 degree angle.  It is impossible for a human player to do this.  Why are we facing bots with perfect aim, perfect timing, and superb awareness?

To make things even worse, the bots will focus fire on you!  I've been playing close attention on how the bots are picking targets.  I can be hiding behind a wall, waiting for my weapons to reload, pop out and start shooting, and dam near everytime, the bots will turn toward you, ignoring my bot teammate right in their face, and start shooting me.  WTH?!  You realize how fast you die when 3 or 4 maxed Stasis Beam/Lances hit you all at the same time?

If you want to see the proof just get yourself killed on some map and spectate the bots.  Watch the bots with stasis beams because you can see their aim.  You can see the stasis beams track their targets perfectly.  Sometimes they have many targets and the beam will jump around targets instantly.  It's like they have an aimbot.  Oh wait!  They do!   This leads to problem #3.

3)  WHY ARE WE PAYING $$$?:  I like many many others have dropped hundreds of $$$ to boost our bots to higher levels, which in turn gives us an advantage over other players not paying $$$.  I see players all the time with less than 100k XP with 3500 PWR and maxed hangers.  They must have spent thousands of $$$.  Anyways, the whole point is, why would you negate any advantage a paying player has by matching him with maxed bots with superior aiming, superior timing, and superior awareness?

I personally feel like I've been robbed.  I want my dam money back and want a 1000 PWR hanger again.  At least I won't be going up against fully maxed Zephyr with maxed weapons, that doesn't miss, and will stun you precisely!

I have a few players I play with regularly that have grinded their way to around 2200 power and never spent a dime.  These guys stopped playing matches with me and the other 3k+ players because they get their asses handed to them by the bots when they play with us.

Dear Pilot, thanks a lot for a detailed post on this matter. We're doing our best to improve matchmaking and we don't plan to stop. Your feedback will be forwarded to the game team 😉

Don't pay to win and expect easy matches.  The more you upgrade the more the AI upgrades.  Not their fault you didn't put in the hours to get the experience that makes you better and makes you form strategies to win.  That's the short version of my two cents on the matter.

Good feedback!

A helpful tip a lot of the higher mech players use is to start with a panther with longarms or Rocket-8s as the Statis Barrier does not have a damage limit.  So you drop the Statis Barrier near a corner, walk behind it take a few of your sniper shots and retreat.

Very simple but effective.  It doesn't matter how good the AI aim is if their Statis Beams do not connect.

Other things I would recommend is learning to curve Javelins or equiping a mortar javelin combo.  Something that allows you to fire from cover.

Thank you for the feedback again and good luck!

Yes I understand the AI level scales to match your power.  It's apparent with this game that paying for upgrades just opens up more diversity in your loadout.   Currently, I have a 90% win percentage (4427 matches with 4000+ wins) and a average of 10 kills per battle so I'm not a pay to win player with zero skill.  You missed the point of the original post.

The post was originally intended to address the issue of the bots AI being above human capabilities.   I, like many players, play 100% on a phone.  You cannot strafe left/right and put all 5 longarms shots into a fast moving killshot juking left and right.  I see bot Zephyrs with LA's doing that every day.  They don't miss at my level.

I'm not sure where you are at but players sub 2500 pwr do not see this.  At 3250 pwr you see it all the time.

Not their fault you didn't put in the hours to get the experience that makes you better and makes you form strategies to win.

I, like many guys I play with on a regular basis (all over 3000 pwr), have made these adjustments.  Killshots are no longer the bread and butter mech.  That's fine.  It forces more diversity.  There are some drawbacks through.  An good example is that Lancer is pretty much deprecated.  The speed of the Lancer along with jump ability used to dodge many attacks.  That is no longer possible as the bots will lock onto you.  There's no getting away from them even if you jump over their head.  For example, on the Neo map, I had my Lancer on top of the buildings raining down javelins.  I got exposed trying to recapture the center and got hit by multiple beams.  I jumped to another building and watched 3 sets of beams tracking me perfectly.  I was dead before I hit the other building.  This is not possible with human players aiming on a phone.  This is the point you have missed entirely.

Have you ever tried to juke a maxed bot killshot with pulse cannons?  You can't.  He'll lock onto you and every single bullet is in your face.

All of this is irrelevent if you have not played the game above 3000+ pwr.   I play on my son's account (1500 pwr) to help him level up and the game is more normal.  The bots are still very competitive but not with asinine aiming.
