Derby last day: really?
The biweekly derby requires players to achieve 65 goals out of 70. 5 new goals are released every day.
Today is the last day, and so the last 5 goals have been released. Unexpectedly (or maybe expectedly?), they are much more difficult to achieve than the previous ones: to capture 5 control points in a same game, to win 6 games in a row, to become 9 times the best player while playing with friends, to be the best player with 3 mechs (the podium with your three mechs on it?) and to kill 5 mechs without being hit.
Why make the last day so difficult? Is it to "invite" the players to consider visiting the shop, in order to make a purchase (a goal in itself) and buy some stuff (for instance a currency) the need to achieve other goals, like improving the rank of a mech/pilot?
Considering that Mech Arena is heavily "money oriented", to put it nicely, it is the best explanation I have so far.
[Addendum] And by the way, the derby price is an implant for the Fusion Cannon, which must currently be paid with IRL money, starting at $36 for the smallest one. Your business, my money, and the latter will not feed the former anymore.

Note: Playing sniper, I betted on the "kill 5 mechs without being hit" task to get my 65th and last achievement. Despite I had 9 kills in my first game, most of them without being hit in return, I didn't get the task done. So it looks like we actually need to kill at least 5 mechs without being hit at all during the game, which is extremely difficult in my opinion, and is an invitation for camping and kill stealing.
