I run up to a 12,000 SP hangar and I run Stalker all the time with Disc Launchers. It is one of my favorite mechs. It can die quickly, but it can also last a very long time with its healing ability. It works fine in CPC, is great for small maps in 5v5 tournament (this week's maps were particularly good ones for it), but it is strongest in FFA. It is still popular in human v human team matches as a Rocket Mortar mech. Overall it isn't considered a top endgame mech anymore, it is more for particular situations now. But because it can cause so much damage so quickly, heals, and is decently speedy, it isn't a bad investment. Especially because is so useful in tournament modes where you're earning A-Coins. FFA in particular happens ever 2 weeks, so yeah I'd say it's worth it.
