Besides, the game allows you to earn A-Coins for free, which is considered more like a donate currency. Of course, players who are making in-app purchases can access some beneficial Content or other advantages, but still, the difference is not that dramatic, and it's still possible to compete with each other.

The CMs spread the lies that are in the 'official' statements so players are holding them responsible. Differences in f2p and p2p are quite significant due to the fact that matchmaking is absolute trash which has caused a huge imbalance in the game that the devs have refused to fix. Saying  'the difference is not that dramatic' is basically a lie....

Difference between f2p and p2w is vast, the difference between f2p and whales is astronomical. Any half decent p2w will destroy f2p and any half decent whale beats p2w. Whales sneeze and f2p players die. 

It's really really not plausible for f2p to compete with p2p when for well over a year they haven't had reliable access to new content. The difference is really drastic if you know what you're talking about. You also glossed over the statemen that the events where you keep telling f2p players they can earn new items are actually p2w events.
