FFA mode, thoughts and first impression.
So, first of all, I think the FFA mode is a nice idea and a fresh addition to the game.
But.
After playing about 10-12 games I have the impression that it suffers from bad design choices. The map is too small for 10 players who may constantly respawn. Also, the map and the conditions favour exactly three Mechs. Surge, Zephyr and Guardian, may Killshot. the rest gets the shaft. Also, you absolutely have to arm yourself with brawling weapons: Arc torrents, Shotgun, Missile Rack. That´s it.
Also, the constant respawn leads to the following: You jump an enemy with your stun or reset, then kill it. While reloading your ammo and ability, you get shot yourself by some random respawn. This becomes a vicious cycle.
Then, this FFA is alternating with the 5v5 Deathmatch for the Competition. I can see this move at the start of the mode to see if it gets accepted and collect some data. Yet, I would prefer some things:
1. Let the players chose if they want to play 5v5 or FFA. After all, Mech Arena is a team game so far.
2. 10 players is 5 too much in FFA.
3. Constant respawn is not adding value, normal elimination, or maybe one respawn of your team should be sufficient.
