Hello lord! Currently, there are no bugs due to which troops could leave Catacombs without an order of the account holder or could be killed inside of the Catacombs. 

Many players use Auto Unit Hider to get their troops automatically secured after their returning from raids. Yes, you need some Sapphires to buy it but the restoration of the army, which has been caught up in the Castle, usually costs much more.
