I'm in the Tavern trying to rank my level 50 5star epic. I'm staring at an unlocked 5star rare I'm ready to lose and four 5star chickens. But it's telling me I don't have any suitable heros or chickens to rank the level 50. W???
Hmm, that sounds odd. Can you take a screenshot and show us what it looks like?
This sounds like the rank up bug that was running around after patch 5.40 dropped. However, 5.40.1 came out yesterday and that should have fixed it.

i am having the same issue with my 4 star champion. Nothing seems to work. i can rank up to 3 stars but 4 and up i cant it says none of my champions are suitable... i am on version 5.40.1 as well.

What finally worked for me:
After trying everything else.
I went to Google Playstore.
Search Raid Shadow Legends -----> update from there.
Launch game from Google Playstore
Should be able to rank up.
