While doing 3v3s my Embrys AOE'd, when Taras counter attacked how did Embrys get a Revive on Death buff? Does his passive still trigger with Unkillable on? Is that "working as intended"?

Yes. That is how it works. He took fatal damage and got the buff.

I just read the passive, "If this Champion is about to get killed", no matter how much damage Taras hit for Embrys was not "about to get killed".

Yeah its a bad interaction between different mechanics. Aspect of Siroth will do the same thing. I assume its a phasing thing.
