I still get to debate if Voidghost is broken, yay!

Isn't it great when 90% of the talk about the game is whether or not certain mechs or weapons are OP? Just a good chunk of players not having fun playing against a mech or weapon that for many is stupid in concept. Then on the other side of that is players (often who have the mech or weapon in question by the way) saying it's not that bad and you just need to learn to counter it. I was worried plarium had settled the debate on voidghost early. But now the debate can continue.

Cause plarium is like "It was an unintended mechanic. That's why the damage boost remains active and ability to heals during the second immaterial phase. Totally unintended. You were absolutely never meant to figure out some weapons would keep firing while voidghost was immaterial. But since we just so happened to not communicate that it was totally an unintended mechanic the entire time the crate rush was running, which wasn't up to our communication standards (totally not planned), and everyone called us out on it we've decided to revert our NERF at least for the time being."

Thing is I'd already lost interest in the debate. As always, numbers should tell the story of whether or not it's overpowered. Theoretically I think it is. And regardless I don't like it. We've already got seeker and deathwalker which can be invulnerable and shoot at you while they're teleporting. I never liked them. Now we've got a mech that can do that, and doesn't need to be teleporting, doesn't need to be backtracking. And it can heal itself. Best idea to counter it I think would be something that can EMP it or catch it between abilities and prevent it from using again. This is derived from Terminator's advice. Oh yeah the advice also said to let it kill you then chase after it with a counter. And there's where my problem is.

Voidghost is a scout mech. A kind of mech designed for taking out important targets. Sometimes voidghost only needs to make 1 kill to do its job. And theoretically it's the perfect scout. You can make your way towards a targeted enemy even behind enemy lines risk free because of invulnerability. Start shooting your burrow beams or your storm racks and then go invulnerable again. Your target dies, you get some health back and you can move out of there risk free again because of being immaterial. When the NERF was applied I saw Terminator mentioned they were using savant. And then later watched a video by Mayer where he tried savant. This weapon is dumb with voidghost because of the fast flying rockets and quick magazine dump you can have the recast time up for a fraction of a second to use that weapon and go immaterial again. Very little risk to ones self while being able to deal a massive amount of damage to enemies, and that was after the NERF. I've had this idea that repeaters would work well with it since their magazines gradually refill. My idea is you would go immaterial to get into point blank range and dump repeaters into them and then if you couldn't finish them off if they still have a good bit of HP left go immaterial again and wait for the repeaters to reload a bit and then finish them off. Or do the opposite say you're pre ability you shoot them with your repeaters but you need to finish them off. Go immaterial and then finish them during recast time and get any health you might have lost back and then recast and escape back to safety.

To me, yeah still unreasonably efficient at what it's supposed to do. And it's definitely still going to be replacing certain things in their roles. But again, it's out. They released it as is. Even if the team isn't lying and those weapons continuing to fire while voidghost is immaterial was unintended they should have either communicated that sooner or pushed back the release of voidghost until they fixed it. But since things have gone the way they have they might as well leave it as is and let the numbers tell the story of whether or not it's broken.

It's funny that they brought all up about the weapons it uses and not how an immaterial object can capture a point, which it shouldn't be able to do.

Immaterial should be able to be crashed by guardian, as it is an electric type move. If one mech was allowed to crash it, I would bring a bit of balance back. It works on the weapons and resets them but does not end immaterial.
