Charge Rockets - Why can't they just auto-charge?

With the incoming changes to Charge Rockets having to just hold the fire button until charged; Why can't they just have it auto-recharge like, say, Repeaters. If the weapon is let to recharge, you get the full benefit, if you keep holding down the fire button, it will act like Repeaters, where, only one rocket shoots every second or something along that line.

Seems like a good buff but it'll need some fixes like a cd nerf power by another damage buff to make it fair

Horrible take to be honest. Half of CRs mechanic is knowing when to charge and the amount of rockets you need at that exact moment, which would be incredibly difficult if it was done automatically 100 percent of the time forcing yourself in vulnerable positions to take the shot.

Repeaters however needs its ammo reserve to rush and kill enemies quickly. CR isn't meant to rush and kill enemies quickly and quite actually the polar opposite which is evading after firing to recharge hence the speed boost. Polar opposite ammo mechanics.

I wasn't even in favor of no longer having to hold and release (Strictly for PC) since it's slightly faster than having to release and click again to fire in some cases when you need to shoot immediately.

It has nothing to do with the number of rockets, it's by your own admission the 'extra job' needed of repeadetly checking your rocket amount since it's done without needing a brain until you need to check the counter, which will 100 percent effect split second decisions.

At least with manual usage, the rocket counter is irrelevant which i'll take even 2% more focus on a gunfight coming from someone that strictly plays League 1 Showdown where miliseconds dictate a win or loss. Brain off mechanic ≠ easier weapon.

If you prefer automatic charging and further brain off mechanics however then you're entitled to that, but CR did not start off with that and i'm simply in favor of its roots.

in favor of their roots there should be no changes to it, instead of a change where you need to do extra click :DD

it was a pain to use on tablet when you need to turn while holding fingers on it, so if i needed to turn left i think i was turning right 360 degrese instead, or the other way around, it was easier this way.

autocharge would solve it for everyone, instead they fixed it for one group and f it up for another. tipical plarium.

Is it hard for PC players now, nope! It's the same for all of us. Hold to charge up, tap to release (like Particle Beam and Compound Beam). Simple!

Autocharge would make Charge Rockets a zero-skill weapon. Already there are many :)

For ppl who compare CR and Repeaters, as Getback said; Charge Rockets are used mainly in a hit-and-run style weapon (since it has a medium range, short reload and fast fire rate), while repeaters need constant ammo to finish off mechs so that a mech is not forced to wait like 6-7s for reload (which happens in the case of Shotgun and Fragment Gun)

I think auto-charging would make Charge Rockets feel much smoother to use. Having to keep checking the rocket count and manually charge them can interrupt the flow of a fight. As long as there’s some balance to prevent it from being too strong, I’d definitely prefer the auto-charge option.
